A Full Page!

Marcos, Armand and I were talking about our comic experiment, and we are all going to try to add an extra tear. So, we'll start with a minimum of two tears, and the ideal would be three tears. We found that two tears just weren't enough to convey our ideas to the next artist.

In my case, I felt that I needed a full page to finish out my idea. We'll see if this works better.

Dinga-man

This is a rough concept design for Dinga-man, our lead character. We have an idea where the story might lead, but that could all change with every new installment into our story. "Dinga-man" or, as he is referred to in the story, is not his real name (we'll discover his real name later on).

Captured in Africa at the age of fifteen, this Mandinga warrior is on a quest. Rescued from slavery when his slave ship was sacked by pirates, Dinga-man is now himself a pirate. Oddly, although he's been liberated for eight years now, he still wears the shackle around his neck and on his left wrist. Symbols of his heavy burden. Later on in the story we'll have an opportunity to explain that too.

For now, he'll just remain a mystery.

Asian Tribe

El pacifico voyages to the far east and there's got to be Asian tribes. Here's a study of a malay native in Southeast Asia c.1400-1700's.

Some 1700's Inspirational Stuff.

HI everybody,
since Marcelo and Armand did not have time enough yet to come up with some inspirational drawings based on this whole "Pacifico - Pirate" idea, I'll just go ahead in the meantime and post some stuff I recently did for it, just general character and atmosphere ideas... now let's see where this whole thing takes us !
