You do some really excellent work here. I can't draw if my life depended on it. Do you work in this industry or are you an aspiring artist? Either way, you are great what this, so I hope you don't stop pursuing the dream.

Great stuff guys. My hat is off to you. Question; are you drawing and scaning the work in or producing all on computer, or a little of both? Keep it up, very entertaining.

This looks awesome! Love the style and coloring. Reminds me of European comic books I use to read growing up.

Thanks for all the compliments!

Yep, all three of us are professionals working in the feature computer animation business. The idea for this improvisational comic started after seeing some vintage serial comic "funny papers" artwork. We thought, lets do something like that using Blogger.com.

So, we're doing a weekly, or bi-monthly installment that is purely improvisational. One artist sets up a direction, and the other artist follows it or takes it in a new direction. We are writing the story as it goes along. We have a general direction for the story and characters, but the rest of it is purely improvisational.

We started with the premise of, "Pirates," and we want to see where it leads. Lots of fun, excitement and action.

Some of the artwork is all done in the computer, but in my case all of it is drawn by hand, scanned and made digital, and then I add color using the computer.

FYI: If you are having trouble reading the comic, you can click on the images to make them larger.

Also...if you are interested in learning a little more about me, or if you are interested in seeing more of my work, click on my link. Or, cut and paste this address:

Brad,

Color is added with a computer program called Adobe Photoshop, but there are other programs you could use like Corel Painter.

Thanks again for all your interest and kind words. Yep, is just for fun. After hauling in an entire work week, we tinker with this comic blog for the shear fun of it.

The reality is that this endeavor takes a lot of time and work, and the guys and I are in agreement that we may curtail our comic exercise back down to a couple of tears (two strips of three panels-six panels total), instead of a full page.

I think Marcos may do a full page, but then after that we'll do what we can. Whether that's a couple tears, or a full page.

(By the way, Marcos and I use Photoshop to add color to our hand-drawn line work, but Armand has been doing his entire work in the computer.)
